Interactive IJsselmeer Table
Afsluitdijk Wadden Center
For this new educational information center on the Afsluitdijk, The Netherlands, I had the opportunity to create a beautiful interactive table where visitors could see all the amazing things that happen daily in and around the IJsselmeer. We designed a 2 layer maquette of the area, with graphics projected from the top and six rotational buttons to activate and control different animations.
As a visual designer and animator for this project, my main goal was to create an art piece that was fun to use, while showcasing abstract layers of information in a beautiful way. After doing multiple style explorations, I decided to go with a texture based illustration that uses different shades of blue to create contrast and depth. Seeing the illustrations come to live on the table itself is truly magical. Here's the result!
