Interactive Magical Landscape
Make a Wish, Princess Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology
For the new Prinses Máxima Center for Pediatric Oncology, the Make a Wish foundation created a very special room where kids could come in and spend time learning new things by doing workshops, playing games and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere;
a safe and fun place inside the hospital for kids to take their minds off their treatment.
I had the wonderful task of illustrating and animating this interactive magical landscape, which is now projected in one of the main walls of the room.
We used a depth camera paired with body recognition that allowed us to identify when someone was close to the landscape to trigger one of the many interactive elements.
Taking into account the size of the wall I designed the playspace so that it wouldn't be intrusive, while still granting kids the possibility to play together.
